This week, the National Cannabis Industry Association (NCIA) held the Cannabis Business Summit: Cultivation Management Symposium in Seattle, Washington. Our Master Grower, Evan Schick, spoke at the symposium on the specialized cultivation methods and techniques for organic cultivation. 

This February, Walking Raven took part in the 1st High Rollers Bowling League, presented by Dixie Elixirs. Four teams participated in the league, including Dixie Elixirs, Medicine Man, and The Clinic.

Big news across Colorado and the nation, Rolling Stone even covered the story, is the speculation that every Colorado residents might receive a $7.63 refund from cannabis tax revenue. The tax revenue is helping fund school construction and program; however, there is a cap on how much taxpayer money the state can receive, so the thought is that the excess revenue from marijuana sales in Colorado is going back to the taxpayers. 

Hey everybody! Matt here with the Walking Raven. I’ve been working at the Walking Raven for about 4 years now. Yesterdary, January 18th, marked our one year being open to adults 21+. From our humble beginnings as a small medical store to the present, bustling, recreational store you know and love today two things have stayed the same throughout the years: Our excellent customer service and the high quality of our bud. I have done just about everything here; I have trimmed, helped with growing, budtended, and am currently the store manager. Welcome to history in the making!

With the passage of amendment 64, Colorado is the first state to take on a regulated, taxed, retail marijuana market. An entirely new American industry, born right here in Colorado, is rolling full steam ahead as new business’s both marijuana related and not are created and the demand for Marijuana industry workers increases. It’s a dream come true for some “cannaseurs”; the opportunity to work with Cannabis legally and for a paycheck! As exciting as it is, the requirement to work within the industry is simple; all potential new industry workers must obtain an “occupational license” that is designated as either a “support” or “key” badge.
